What? When? Where? Who? Why?

Tempestade: 1. tempest, storm, rainstorm, thunderstorm 2. commotion, trouble, tumult

I could start with a lie, invent grandiose metaphors for the name TempesTech ( tempestade + tech ), or say that it refers to brainstorming, perhaps a storm of ideas. But the truth is much simpler.

For many years I wanted to document my day-to-day learning, but I always procrastinated. I used excuses like lack of time or the endless search for the perfect name. Then, one stormy night, after hours without electricity and with all my devices dead, lying on the couch staring into the darkness. I finally found the name that would kick off this journey.

I thought about building a website from scratch, but that would have required months of development in my limited free time. I realized it was better to start right away, before the idea got pushed aside again.

I didn’t need to reinvent the wheel to get something simple online. So here we are, on good old WordPress, with a cool free theme.

Another important point: all content will be in English for two reasons:

  1. I need practice my English (which is still pretty bad )
  2. I don’t want to encourage anyone to make the same mistake I did: waiting until later in life to learn another language.

With this, I can respond to 5W and start off on the right foot:

  • What: A space to share my daily learning  – not expecting anyone to read, but it’ll be rewarding if I can help someone along the way.
  • When: Now!
  • Where: In this WordPress blog, with the wonderful Blocksy template ( free version );
  • Who: Just me, writing this post;
  • Why: To get out of my comfort zone;

Sorry for the outburst, but I needed to say this to finally turn the page of procrastination.

Thank you for reading!
